Does the manifestaion of the above states limit, reduce conscious reasoning in subjects. Allowing statements and commands to be accepted and followed (within their value system)?
What I’m trying to establish is that if a subjects ability to reason is numbed. Can they be manipulated.

I’ve been trying to open my third eye but I can’t seem to do so. It is extremely hard for me. I’ve also been having problems getting into a deep trance. Any suggestions?

There are two fears which plague nearly every trainee hypnotist:
1: The induction not working, particularly if you are doing instant or rapid inductions, and
2: The suggestions not working, the subject not responding properly, or at all.
So the question becomes, how do we fix both these problems and virtually guarantee the success of all inductions and suggestions in one go?
Well, simply put there are two main ways of doing this, utilization, and, today’s focus; deepeners.
When you do an instant hypnotic induction, you create for yourself a second, maybe even less, of opportunity that you need to fill. It’s all very well to say ’sleep’ and hold you breath as you just hope the technique will work, but arm yourself with effective deepeners and you can be confident knowing that you can stabilize and solidify whatever response you create, leading to profound trance for the subject virtually every time.
So, if a deepener stabilizes and intensifies trance, what it is in fact doing is enhancing the suggestibility of the subject. The word ‘deepener,’ as i am sure you can tell, is a bit of a misnomer. They aren’t really getting deeper, they are just getting more and more responsive to the suggestions given by you as the hypnotist.
Here’s something that most other hypnotists do not realize; in reality deepeners do not exist. Inductions don’t really exist either, and nor do suggestion. It’s all hypnosis. These devisions and labels are arbitrary. When I do hypnosis I just do it, I don’t think ‘now for the deepener,’ I fuse all the elements together. This having been said, when you are learning hypnosis techniques and examples are essential. I and many other experienced hypnotists still often use conventional tried and tested deepening techniques to guide or outline what we do, but that is all. Never let techniques or structure get in the way of the pure unconscious element of hypnosis.
So, starting with the basics, let’s have a look at how you can take a simple deepener, the 10 to 1 count, and make it much more powerful.
This deepener, and simple variations thereof, is perhaps the most clichéd hypnosis technique in existence, (apart from the pocket watch).
In fact, what begins as a simple technique can become very powerful with a few additions.
Typically the 10 to 1 count goes like this ‘I am now going to count from 10 down to 1, and with every number i count you go deeper and deeper. 10, deeper and deeper 9, relaxing further, 8, 7, 6 …. ‘
So, what can we add to make this technique more powerful?
Let’s start with the basic language patterns. We’ll add pacing and leading, embedded commands cause effect, ambiguity, presuppositions of awareness and richer sensory descriptions. It then becomes:
“As you are sitting here, feeling the chair below you, and hearing my voice, I wonder if you have realized just how easy it to go deeply into trance. Now, in a moment I am going to begin to count down from 10 to 1. Notice as every number I say causes you to feel more relaxed, to focus more intently on my voice, and to go deeper into trance. 10, relaxing deeper, 9, looking forward to deep trance very soon, 8, noticing as your mind just lets go deeper now, 7, all the way down…”
Now, just to make 100% sure we have even the most stubborn of hypnotic subjects in deep trance, let’s really take this to the next level. Notice visual imagery, metaphor and more advanced language patterns. Also bear in mind your voice tone must reflect what you mean, words alone are merely hollow sounds, so make sure what you say comes from you (do not use these examples as scripts!) and you really feel what you say.
“Now, it’s easy for people to relax and go deeply into trance. I spoke to a subject the other day, who was just like you. He sat there, in that chair, hearing my voice, and feeling good, going down, easily and deeply into trance now. And when I asked him just what it was like to go deeply into trance, he said it was like riding down in an elevator. You’d stand there, in that small little cubicle. Looking up and the walls, feeling the cool, clean air. As you began to slip down you’d feel that feeling, knowing that now you are falling deeply down. As you stop at floor number 10 you realize that at the bottom, at the ground floor, lies your destination. You can look forward to your destination, that spot of total deep trance, and from there remember back to now, at the top of this elevator, realizing just how smooth and easy this journey into trance really is…”
So, powerful. But long. Really long. Ideal if you are in a clinical setting and have ages in which to focus on your subject, bhttp://www.articlesbase.com/publish-articles.phput what if you are out in the street?
In that case you may want to focus more on pacing and leading, and go for a 3 to 1 rather than 10 to one. In many cases a deepener can be as quick as 30 odd seconds, so you do not need to spend forever examining every intricate detail of an elevator. This is just an example of how you can enhance and build upon these outlines and techniques, showing you how you can use these old methods to guide but not limit the hypnosis you do.
I’ll let you in on another secret.
Perhaps most powerful way to deepen trance is simply to give suggestions.
Simple phenomena, such as hand levitation or eye catalepsy, which you can easily gain with an effective 30 second deepener, naturally cause people to deepen in trance and become more suggestible. You can also use some of the language features above to enhance this natural effect.
There are a huge number of other powerful and fast ways to deepen trance.
If you look around the internet you will find stacks of DVDs teaching instant and rapid induction, but until now I have not been able to find one focusing on the humble deepener.
A good deepener can turn a failed induction into a spectacular success, and get the subject to the point where they will accept and act upon virtually any ethical suggestion you give.
