Album Description The classic NRG showcase series “Mad About The Boy” reaches a milestone with the tenth volume in the series. Disc one goes for the jugular with a hard hitting electro/eurotrance style epitomized by lead track “My Heart Goes Bang” from Massive Ego V Miss Dusty O. Disc two highlights the fluffier/poppier side of the NRG scene with excellent new interpretations of classic songs including Leif Benjamin’s “Baker Street”, Karen Noble’s dusty update “In The Middle Of Nowhe… More >>
Over the last year techno music has become a favorite style of music for me – particularly trance. I’ve been interested in starting to write my own trance, and have been using GarageBand (Mac included software) to do this – so far it has been working out nicely but I wonder what the pros are using. Does anybody know what kind of software professional electronic artists use, and where it might be available? I’m just asking for future consideration if I start to really get into writing my own stuff.
Just to clarify, I meant recording software – it was probably obvious, I just wanted to make sure.
Ok I’ve been loving trance my whole life, and when I go to a club I always find some songs that blow my mind, however when I search I can never find what I’m looking for.
Anyone out there know of some AMAZING trance artists?
I like female vocals, amazing progressive trance
Armin Van Buuren is one of my favs and ATB.
DJ Tiesto is my polar opposite, when I listen to a song I want chills to run down my spine, I would love your input. Thanks.

First off, i know nothing of this genre, i am a hardcore metal head, so this is like stepping in forbidden ground. I am looking for some Trance artists that play the more sort of soothing, sorta fast yet sorta soft, type of trance. I can’t give you any example bands as i have none, i just know trance is the particular genre. I’m merely looking for a bunch that i can use for sort of background music.
I wanted something similar to this.
Some that has that sort of melodic feel to it, as well as that sort of keyboard/piano ambiance.
Feel free to list half a dozen or so and i will just youtube to see what i like, best answer will be picked according what is most accurate to my taste.
Thanks guys \m/
Also, i would prefer without vocals/lyrics if possible.
I’ve recently been getting into Trance so I’ve been listening to a lot of A State of Trance. I like a lot of the music that Armin Van Buuren plays and I’d like to buy some cds but I don’t know where to start my collection. Can someone please recommend some good artists? I like a lot of the vocal trance especially if it’s a girl singing.
Awesome, thanks for the suggestions. Keep ‘em coming. I’ll print off a list the next time I go shopping and pick up a bunch of cds.
cool, thanks for all the suggestions moothecat. I love Sara McLaclan…she has a beautiful voice. I’ve heard of DJ Tiesto but I think this is the first time I’ve heard any of his mixes.
Weekendist: Magic Garden, a Chinatown birthday, and the end of World Cup!
Here comes the Weekend, and here’s what it has in store for you: trance parties, EP release parties, dark parties, pool parties! Hey, it is the summer after all. FRIDAY Magic Garden is celebrating their 9 year anniversary by hosting a huge trance party at 1933 , the old slaughterhouse turned shopping/art district. Trance fiends can look forward to Kodama, Solaris and Yuta flying in from Japan …
I’d like to find new music with a sound that is cultural, spiritual, or tribal. Something you’d hear from Jerusalem, or a holy land. Meditation music with a beat. It can also range into Trance or a dance style, but would prefer it not to too much.
Anyone know this sound which I speak of? If you could help me it would be much appreciated.
