How do artists like Astrix and Infected Mushroom and Shpongle produce their music?
Do they use software or a mixing desk, and how do they get the finished piece of music?
Do they record themselves playing on a real synthesizer and play it as a sample through the mixer??
does anybody know??

All the artists have their own way of working to make their own sound. For example Shpongle uses a lot of instrumental sounds while Infected Mushroom rely on synths more. I’d say that pretty much everybody uses software such as protools or cubase or logic to produce the final mix of any track regardless of whether there has been instruments, hardware synths and/or softsynths used in making it.
The choice of recording instruments yourself or using sample packs depends on what kind of sound you are after and the amount of control you want. The choice between softsynths and recording hardsynths is a matter of taste: Some swear by the authentic sound of hardware, others find it easier and more flexible to use softsynths.
