Seeing all the 5-star reviews for this CD had me expecting something truly superb, but I found it to be merely good. I’m a big trance fan, but this turned out not be exactly my cup of tea.
The first half seemed like all the same unexceptional song — it all had the same beat and sounded the same. Tracks 6 and 7 were vastly more interesting to me after that, rating very good (but not excellent). This level wasn’t attained again until the last track (#11). In general the 2nd half of the CD was way better than the 1st half. A minor disappointment was the Carl Cox track (#8), which I thought was much better done on his own Phuture 2000 CD, not that the one here is terrible.
There wasn’t anything obnoxious that I had to skip over, so at least I feel I could put this on in the background at a party and not fear it was going to clear the place. Some people might even really like it, but I give it only 3 1/2 stars.

This Cd is off the chain while listening to in your “altered reality”. I also crank up the volume while I’m sober. This Cd is a must have if you like partying at ALL hours of the night!!

I LOVE D:Fuse. I’ve seen him live in Austin and at a couple of rave’s and in South Beach Miami and he’s Incredible. This is a better album than his Psychotrance 2001 or his Progressive mix 01.

it seems these days dfuse has gotten away from the bangin trance that left me thinking this guy was one of my favorite DJs. this is bangin trance! you have got to own this cd! beautifully mixed with amazing tracks of that time! one of the best trance mixes of all-time.

I rarely buy mix cds nowadays. Most of the music I am into is either in the goth/industrial genre or chill out music. I haven’t been much into trance music in the past year. I was perusing my cd collection trying to find cds that I haven’t reviewed yet. Most of the cds that I have out on my cd racks has been reviewed…with the exception of “Psychotrance 2000″ mixed by D:Fuse. I haven’t listened to the cd in a couple of years so I decided to throw it into the ol’ boombox. Almost immediately I was reminded what attracted me to trance music in general. D:Fuse did an excellent job of mixing. The songs flowed cohesively together as a one unit as opposed to the choppy mixing of Dave Waxman (from the Ultra series). The song selection was excellent but what would you expect from Moonshine records? When I was listening to “Psychotrance 2000″, I felt like that I was back in Chicago, dancing at the Cro-Bar on a late Saturday night. The beats were thick and heady. The melodies definitely had that ethereal, if not heavenly sound that I love in trance music. The production had a live quality to it that I rarely hear in most mixed cds nowadays. All the songs were/are great. There wasn’t a single song that I didn’t like. Overall solid mix cd. I definitely will have to keep this cd in heavy rotation.
